We are very pleased to announce that the Robert W. Woodruff Library of Emory University has acquired examples of all the editions of Carolee Campbell's Ninja Press in Sherman Oaks, California. Carolee has designed, handset the type, printed letterpress on a Vandercook Universal press, and bound each edition. The publications from the press consist of 23 books and chapbooks, 38 broadsides and keepsakes, and a collection of ephemera. Poets whose work is showcased include: Betty Andrews, Breyten Breytenbach, Robert Bringhurst, Thomas Cahill, Billy Collins, Robert Creeley, Michael Hannon, Philip Levine, W. S. Merwin, José Montoya, and Nathaniel Tarn. The Ninja Press collection is housed in the Manuscript, Archives, and Rare Book Library in the Woodruff Library.
