Dear ARLIS/NA Members,

The Mentoring Subcommittee thought a recent ALA publication might be of interest to the membership.

Marta K. Lee, Mentoring in the Library: Building For the Future (ALA Guides for the Busy Librarian), 2011.

We are thrilled to find a reference to V. Heidi Hass and Tony White's article "Mentorship Task Force Report, Professional Development Committee, ARLIS/NA." in Art Documentation 24, no. 2 (2005) which is very prominently mentioned in "Chapter 1: Introduction to Mentoring" to help demonstrate which skills and characteristics are ideal in a mentoring relationship.

And we are equally thrilled to find a reference to Margaret Law, who led the first ARLIS/NA Mentoring Workshop at the 2006 ARLIS/NA annual conference in Banff. Margaret's videotaped 2006 Banff workshop provides the framework for the current ARLIS/NA Mentoring Program.
