LIBRARY DIRECTOR
Core Responsibilities
Reporting to the Dean/Director of Institutional Research,
the Library Director works to promote library resources and new initiatives, design and provide information literacy instruction, maintain strong relationships with DCAD faculty to ensure that resource needs are being met, acquire new materials for the collection
and create a student-centered learning environment through excellent customer service, innovative responses to resource needs and thoughtful assessment of the library’s goals and initiatives.

Qualifications
Requires master’s degree in library or information science;
an undergraduate degree in art or design is highly desirable. A minimum of three years of academic library experience is required, along with a strong background in art reference, technical services processing, collection development and information technology.
The ideal candidate will have experience developing innovative programs to respond to student and faculty needs, experience designing and presenting a curriculum of information literacy courses, demonstrated organizational skills, excellent customer service
skills, the ability to work independently and in groups, ability to plan and implement new initiatives and a strong commitment to the value of an arts education.
