Good afternoon, Architecture librarians, can you offer suggestions for books, articles, to help with this question: "My first topic is the influence of Islam on the architecture of Venice. I keep tripping up because I want to include pre-Islamic examples (the great arch at Ctesiphon, 6th c. for one.) Can you recommend a book or an article that transitions from there to Byzantium. Then from Byzantium I'll get to Venice, I guess. This paper only has to be 10 pages, so I'll have to be tight." My architecture knowledge is spotty and our copy of the Guide to the Literature of Art History is from 1980 (!) I really appreciate any suggestions and guidance you can provide.
