Dear Colleagues,

In order to help our design students develop their critical thinking, I am proposing that the library host a reading club. Because the reading skills of the students covers a pretty broad spectrum, I am trying to identify some books on some aspect of design that would be both entertaining and thought-provoking. Nothing too heady.

Authors like Witold Rybczynski would fit the bill. Also, evidently anything with “monkeys” in the title (these are in our collection: Chip Kidd, The cheese monkeys: a novel in two semesters and Warren Berger, Cad monkeys, dinosaur babies and T-shaped people)!

Do any of you have suggestions or favorites I might consider? Thanks as always.
