The graphic design of the book is really cool, it is an easy read and it talks about the behind-the-scenes process designers /artists/ authors go through to select images and designs for book covers. Because the reading skills of the students covers a pretty broad spectrum, I am trying to identify some books on some aspect of design that would be both entertaining and thought-provoking. Nothing too heady. Authors like Witold Rybczynski would fit the bill. Also, evidently anything with "monkeys" in the title (these are in our collection: Chip Kidd, The cheese monkeys: a novel in two semesters and Warren Berger, Cad monkeys, dinosaur babies and T-shaped people)!
