Error - unable to initiate communication with LISTSERV (errno=10061, phase=CONNECT, target=127.0.0.1:2306). The server is probably not started.
If the slides are not archival candidates, i.e. unique material or material associated with your institution and its history, faculty or activities, capture all the available info on them and give the away or
toss them once they are scanned. It’s surprisingly liberating once you’ve accepted the idea. At the very least, just use tape to secure the old label. Don’t waste time and labor on more than that.

Subject: [ARLIS-L] 35mm slide retention after digitization
Please excuse cross-postings.
For those that have digitized 35mm slide collections, are you keeping the original slides or discarding them after they’ve been digitized?
During the process of scanning, some of the old labels on the slide mounts fall off due to old/dry adhesive, and we’ve been spending the time relabeling them, but I’m wondering if we’re wasting our time doing so, especially if we end up
deciding to toss them.
