I've been gathering descriptions of books offered on ABE, E-Bay and elsewhere. My rejoinders are in bold. I thought the membership might enjoy seeing them. It's an ongoing project - just for fun.

Title: Points of View: 1982. Mus. of Art, Univ. of Okla. $185. "Looks like an interesting title" (It has its appeal; you make a good point)

REAR ENDPAGE neatly REMOVED, NOT AFFECTING PRINTED MATERIAL (the only way to remove a page - neatly).  (Please explain how, so I can do it too)

Covers have small skinned spot and light wear. If held to the nose, it has a slight musty smell. At normal reading distance, it has no smell. (What about normal smelling distance?)

Book may have one or a combination of the following characteristics: former library book, dust jacket missing, cover wear, name written inside cover, considerable underlining/highlighting, remainder mark, binding loose, binding slants, pages tanning / curling, etc. Overall, the book is in decent shape. (Thanks for that last sentence; I think I'll order it)

This presentation copy is magnificently signed, dated, and inscribed in black fountain pen on the half-title page by the artist/photographer: "Best of luck with your work and with the precious time to do it. Debbie Fleming Caffery. April 10, 1992". The recipient is named. We have not seen a more unusually beautiful and distinctive handwriting (and inscription) than Debbie Fleming Caffery's. It can truly be said to be a work of art in itself.  (I'd like to meet this woman)
