Hello all,
Not that it answers any of these important questions, but here is a link to a recent article on the subject. It specifically addresses major limitations with e-books, or at least with making them more widely available (which I perhaps mistakenly thought was the entire point of an ebook).

Subject: [ARLIS-L] ebooks in the art library

Dear ARLIS members,

I am wondering how ebooks will fit into our art and design school library, in both our art and non-art collections.

Has anyone had success integrating ebooks into their art library? Have your patrons found this format to be superior (or even usable) for any particular needs. Are you making plans to incorporate this format into your collection? Is there demand for or interest in this format from your users or institutional management? Successes? Failures?

Thank you in advance for your answers. I would be happy to summarize for the list if there is interest.

Sincerely,
Amy Naughton
