The Frick Fine Arts Library at Pitt used to be, for decades, a non-circ collection. In the past two years, however, in an effort to better serve the entire university community, especially the undergrad art history
majors and undergrad studio arts patrons, we have become a partially circulating collection.
Items that are rare, brittle, artists' books, oversized books, reference items, folios with loose plates, journals do not circulate to anyone.
The rest of the collection, quartos and mainly university press publications do circulate according to the library system policy:
Faculty - No limit on number checked out - for one semester - unlimited renewals
Staff - No limit on number checked out - for 28 days - 3 renewals
Graduate and Ph D students - No limit on number checked out - for one semester, no renewals
Undregrad students - 100 books can be checked out - for 28 days - one renewal
There is a seven day grace period for everyone before a fine kicks in.
