Group
This new edition of the online publication Artist Files Revealed:
Documentation and Access includes an additional chapter of maintenance
recommendations written by Anne Simmons and Linda Psomas. These new
recommendations cover the essential practicalities of creating and maintaining
an Artist Files collection: classification of the files, assigning locations,
physically creating the files, labeling, housing, filing and circulation.
These
maintenance recommendations join MARC cataloging recommendations to represent
indispensible documentation needed to create and provide access to an artist
file collection. In conjunction with the Online Directory
of artist file collections, this publication provides vital and authoritative
guidance to creating and making available an artist file collection.
The new, expanded edition of this ARLIS/NA Online Publication can be accessed
free of charge at: http://www.arlisna.org/pubs/onlinepubs/artist_files_revealed.pdf
and can be downloaded from the Online Publications
section of the ARLIS/NA website.
