Southern California Chapter members,
The
ARLIS/SC Nominating Committee is accepting nominations for the positions of
Vice-Chair/Chair Elect (1 year as Vice-Chair; 1 year as Chair; 1 year as
Immediate Past-Chair) and Treasurer (2 years). These positions will commence
beginning January 1, 2011. Anyone interested in serving can self-nominate or
you may also submit the name of an ARLIS/SC colleague to the Nominating
Committee.
The
Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect shall act as executive officer in the event the Chair is
unable to serve, shall act as program chair, and shall be responsible for the
sending of all announcements of meetings to the membership.
The
Treasurer shall maintain current membership lists; collect membership dues;
maintain the chapter’s financial records, including establishing and
monitoring the chapter’s bank account; write checks and reimbursements as
needed; provide name tags for meetings and labels for mailings; present
financial reports at meetings and for annual report; and coordinate activities
with the membership committee.
There
are many benefits to serving as a chapter officer. Officers gain valuable
leadership experience while contributing towards ensuring that ARLIS/SC meets
the professional needs of art and architecture librarians and visual resources
professionals in our region.
