Hello all,

My name is Diana Tate and I am a new member of ARLIS/NA.  I'm a current graduate student at the University of North Texas, interested in art librarianship.  I have an upcoming project and wanted to see if anyone would be willing to help me out with a copyright issue.

I am wanting to post images of my personal postcard collection on my website for a project associated with a class I am taking.  In researching copyrights and image posts, I have found conflicting information about "fair use".  If I post images of postcards, that will not be duplicated in print, be used for monetary reasons, and merely to showcase a collection in conjunction with a project on organizing a postcard collection, will I be violating copyrights?  Also, if I do not violate copyrights, would it be appropriate to give the companies/photographers credit?

Thank you in advance for any information you might be willing to provide me!

Diana
