Dear VRA and ARLIS/NA members,

We would like to share with you some exciting Summer Educational Institute (SEI) news. As you know, the purpose of SEI is to provide information professionals with valuable training and education in the area of visual resources and image management. Under the direction of the Art Libraries Society of North America (ARLIS/NA) and the Visual Resources Association Foundation (VRAF) Executive Boards, the SEI Implementation Team serves as the management group for SEI, providing or coordinating administration, local arrangements, registration, scheduling, fundraising, publicity, curriculum, instruction, and teaching materials.

SEI 2010
SEI Pro 2010 was a great success. The Institute was held June 8-11 in Albuquerque, at the University of New Mexico. For the seventh year, SEI registered full, with 45 students. The three-day, in-depth curriculum built on the foundation of learning offered in earlier years, with several participants graduates of earlier SEIs. The advanced curriculum responded to student input from SEI 2009 evaluations and addressed the current needs of image professionals.

The SEI Implementation Team's efforts were led by Alix Reiskind, Harvard Graduate School of Design (ARLIS/NA Co-Chair), Kathe Albrecht, American University (VRAF Co-Chair), Elizabeth Schaub, University of Texas at Austin (incoming ARLIS/NA Co-Chair), and Cindy Abel Morris, University of New Mexico (local Chair).
