Museum of Fine Arts, Houston
The Hirsch Library at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston seeks a Catalog Librarian. This position will be responsible for cataloging and classifying materials in a variety of formats and languages. This position will also provide reference service on an occasional basis. The Catalog Librarian reports to the Head of Technical Services.
Requirements include an ALA-accredited MLS, knowledge of art history, and previous cataloging experience. Reading knowledge of Italian, Spanish, or Russian preferred. Renovated in 2001, the Hirsch Library is open to the public as a non-circulating research library supporting the educational mission of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. The Library is located in a building designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and centrally located within the main campus of the Museum.
