Granary Books is pleased to offer for sale a very rich, broadly representative and important gathering of publications by the great Scottish poet, publisher, sculptor and gardener Ian Hamilton Finlay (1925-2006). Trevor Winkfield, a New York-based British painter and longtime friend and correspondent of Finlay, assembled the collection over two decades. It comprises approximately 200 items, many unique and rare; such an array would form the heart of an excellent Ian Hamilton Finlay collection and would be all but impossible to assemble from scratch.

Included are more than:

70 cards & folding cards,
35 books & booklets,
20 posters & prints,
11 issues of Poor.Old.Tired.Horse.,
along with an original drawing by Finlay ("Definitions of Lawns [1]" 595 x 405 mm.), a copy of The Blue and the Brown Poems (an extremely rare and important item published in 1968 as Jargon 68) plus a wide range of ephemera, lists and related publications.
