Dear Wonderful Art Colleagues,
I hope you can help me with this research inquiry from one of my faculty
members. I am more of an expert on performance art than Russian artists,
so I was hoping I could tap the great wisdom found in ARLIS to see if
any of you have recommendations for engaging in this research.
"I'm planning to consult with you at some point about a current research
project involving the Venice biennale in the 1960s-70s and Soviet
participation in it.
The tricky thing is that most things will be from Russian sources. I
know the older print things pretty well, but could really use help on
finding things online, and using new guides that indicate print
materials. The artist in question is Aleksandr Tyshler, active mainly
1930s-60s. There is a Tyshler Foundation web site that I've already
been working with, and I'm not too interested in art price sites except
that they might reveal evaluation trends."
