Good afternoon,

I've been asked by a graduate student how she should cite - in MLA - artwork printed on a cube she purchased in a museum shop. The images are in the collection of an Irish library; we hoped to find them in a published catalog but unfortunately it didn't contain the images she has used.

I've looked at the MLA handbook various and online sources, but can't find any guidance for citing an object. And the rules for reproductions of visual art all assume some sort of printed textual or online source. Aside of contacting the Irish library - which' I've suggested to the student - I don't know if there are other options.

Any suggestions you have will be greatly appreciated - thank you,

Maryke Barber
