Hello ARLIS Boston Conference Attendees,
Consider participating in the “Meeting User
Expectations” workshop on Friday, April 23, 1:00 to 5:00, at the
Massachusetts College of Art (3rd floor of the Tower
building).
As the post-digital shift in faculty and student
expectations builds momentum, the visual resources professional and art
librarian must master new technologies fast and oftentimes with fewer
resources. Given the enormous swell of multimedia projects, tools, and
interdisciplinary resources integral to academic curricula or curatorial
research, now more than ever collaboration between VRC and Arts Librarians is
vital to effectively serve patrons. In this workshop, we define and explore
what user expectations are and offer strategies to address them. We will
cover “what to expect and what to deliver” by combining current and
emergent technologies in terms of supporting faculty teaching and student
research needs. At the same time, we will also explore how these
technologies can enhance reference and library instruction.
Please join us for a great discussion and thought-provoking,
useful activities.
