Please excuse cross-postings

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the Artist Files Working Group, ARLIS/NA, below is a link to an Artist Files and Digital Records survey. As the kinds of materials collected in traditional artist file collections transition from print to electronic, new challenges arise.  This survey is a first step towards developing the policies necessary to address the issues inherent in collecting digital ephemeral material, and adding that material to our existing artist files.

The survey is available online only at the following URLs:

Your input is valuable if your institution collects and/or provides access to artist files, regardless of whether or not you are collecting digital files. Deadline for responses is Wednesday, April 21.

Initial results of the survey will be shared at the Artist Files Working Group (date and time to be determined) during the 2010 ARLIS/NA conference. All are invited to attend.

This survey was created in part from discussions at the ARLIS/NA 2009 conference panel, Where Libraries & Archives Converge: Artists Files and Artist Files Working Group meetings.
