Dear Thomas et al,

No - you're not the only one.

I was just being interviewed by a library science student with regard to 
my "take" on the future role of subject specialist librarians in an 
everything-available-at-one's-fingertips digital world.

I told the student that I remain cautious on the reliability / 
permanence of digital products.  To me, they are merely "a blip in 
cyberspace".
They seemingly exist at the whim of institutional / administrative 
support, funding, popularity, etc.
Even mighty institutions can fail us, and I use the Getty and the 
cessation of the BHA as a primary example.
