Like many librarians, one of my minor compulsions is to try to make sure my library has all available volumes in a set or series. One of the hardest such titles to track is the International Congress of the History of Art held every 4 years in different locales around the world. The proceedings or papers from the congress are published by different publishers under the aegis of the Comité International d'Histoire de l'Art, http://www.esteticas.unam.mx/CIHA/.

The 2004 congress was in Montreal and I have been curious whether we would ever see the papers so I recently wrote to Nicole Dubreuil, Chair of the Montreal organizing committee. She kindly replied with the message, "No. There was no money for the publication. A selection of articles from the conference appeared in a special volume of RACAR."

I thought I'd pass along the information in case anyone else had been puzzled by the same question.
