Fellow ARLISians: I may have missed seeing a posting about this on ARLIS-L, and if so I apologize for the duplication: I have just discovered in the special museum section of my online NYTimes (published 3-14-10) an article about the N.Y. Art Resources Consortium that features the heads of the four libraries in the Consortium: Deirdre Lawrence (Brooklyn Museum), Ken Soehner (Met), Milan Hughston (MoMA), and Deborah Kempe (Frick). Even more amazing, their full color photographs--four, separate, full-color photographs--in the NYTimes!! And I think they are all long-time ARLIS/NA members!! Too many exclamation points? Well, that's the way it struck me. This doesn't happen every day. Congratulations to all four librarians and all four institutions and the Mellon Foundation that supported this effort. The article, written by Robin Pogrebin, describes not only the Consortium, but also the individual libraries in some detail.
