Come Shopping in Boston

By all means visit Faneuil Hall, the Prudential Center, and the glamorous Newbury Street but also make some time to check out the cool and designy stores popping up in Fort Point, the neighborhood abutting the conference.

Made in Fort Point: The FPAC Store (FPAC = fort point artists      community)

            Front

            Birch and Willow

Suggestions from the very stylish Linda Zeiper (Umass Dartmouth) are: Black Ink and the Museum of Useful Things in Harvard Square and (for those who do not wear my shoe size--8 1/2) George's Shoes in Jamaica Plain, small very unpredictable collection of very nice shoes very cheap! Darin Murphy from the School of the Museum of Fine Art’s recommends the Garment District and Newbury Comics for new and used DVDs. MassArt folks say check out Harvard Square too-- especially Raven Used Books and Mint Julep.

For more great recommendations take a look at Boston Magazine’s  best shopping of 2009.

Please leave a suggestion of your favorite shop on our blog: http://arlisnaboston.wordpress.com/

Happy Shopping!!!!!!
