Dear ARLIS/NA members,

The Career Mentoring program will kick off its 5th year with the Mentoring Workshop on Friday, April 23rd from 8 a.m. to Noon.  Our program is successful due to our members' willingness to give back to the association.

Will you consider signing up as a mentor this year?

Every year our mentee applicants want to discuss:
- navigating job searches and all that entails (resumes, interviews, salary negotiation)
- networking within ARLIS/NA and other related professional associations
- discussing emerging trends within the field
- successful outreach and instruction techniques
- promotion & tenure, publication procedures
- library management and supervision skills
- career transitions

What's in it for you?  Past mentors have benefited from the program by:
- sharing perspective, particularly about things often learned "the hard way"
- encouraging risk-taking while providing a safety net
- stimulating independent growth in our field's newest professionals
- keeping current with the latest technologies and theories
