Dear ARLIS/NA Membership - The annual ARLIS/NA conference is fast approaching. You will soon be receiving a message about registration for the conference where you will get a preview of all the wonderful events, tours, programs, and sessions. On the list of possible things to do at the conference is an opportunity to attend the Society Circle dinner at Lala Rokh, http://www.lalarokh.com/, an award-winning Boston favorite located on the prestigious Beacon Hill. All members of the ARLIS/NA Society Circle are welcome to attend this event. The Development Committee would like to thank our 2009 Society Circle members listed below and encourage those members and new members to join the circle this year. As you may know, the Society Circle was formed in 2003 to help support the educational aims of the Society. Donations to the Society Circle provide funding for the Conference Speakers Fund, the Internship Fund, and the Alternative Voices Speakers Fund. Without generous members willing to donate above and beyond the membership fees, we would not be able to attract high quality conference speakers or bring new members to the profession through the Internship Fund. Members at all points in their career can contribute to these important initiatives with membership to the circle starting at $100. So please consider joining the Society Circle and put the following event on your calendar: Dinner at Lala Rokh Sunday April 25 7:00 - 10:00pm Lala Rokh offers a unique Eastern Mediterranean menu, based on the home-style Persian cuisine that the restaurateurs Azita-Bina Seibel and Babak Bina grew up with. Our dinner will be accompanied by live music and we will have the opportunity to see the families' collection of 14th -16th century Persian miniatures, 8th - 16th century calligraphy, and historic maps that are spread throughout the restaurant.
