Hi everybody,

In early December, we released a new report titled "Catalyzing Collaboration: Seven New York City Libraries," which details outcomes from a discussion among the NYARC (Brooklyn, Frick, Met, MoMA) and Columbia, NYPL, NYU about increased collaboration among these libraries. Initially, this document was conceived as a concise report back to the participating libraries, but in the end, everybody agreed that the community-at-large (that is, you!) would be interested to see which avenues were deemed fruitful for collaboration, and which were dismissed. Among the topics discussed:

*	Privileged Access
*	Collection Development
*	Outsourcing Cataloging
*	Joint Licensing
*	Shared Public View

You can download the report from http://www.oclc.org/research/news/2009-12-01.htm.

Incidentally, the latest issue of Art Documentation contains an article by Deirdre Lawrence which contains background on the NYARC activities, and hints at the larger discussion among the extended group.

Enjoy!

Günter
