Hi everybody, In early December, we released a new report titled "Catalyzing Collaboration: Seven New York City Libraries," which details outcomes from a discussion among the NYARC (Brooklyn, Frick, Met, MoMA) and Columbia, NYPL, NYU about increased collaboration among these libraries. Initially, this document was conceived as a concise report back to the participating libraries, but in the end, everybody agreed that the community-at-large (that is, you!) would be interested to see which avenues were deemed fruitful for collaboration, and which were dismissed. Among the topics discussed: * Privileged Access * Collection Development * Outsourcing Cataloging * Joint Licensing * Shared Public View You can download the report from http://www.oclc.org/research/news/2009-12-01.htm. Incidentally, the latest issue of Art Documentation contains an article by Deirdre Lawrence which contains background on the NYARC activities, and hints at the larger discussion among the extended group. Enjoy!
