Abstract: The Chinese book collection of the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek originating from the beginning of the 17th century and being substantially enriched by the collections of Neumann, Martucci and Quatremère in the 19th century was at that time one of the largest in the Western world. The talk introduces exemplary and extremely rare objects of these holdings.
