Jennifer brings up a good point. I appreciate the efforts to keep the ART DOC cover fresh (although I happen to really like our current version) but I also have learned from my designer sister that these kinds of contests can be quite controversial among professional graphic designers. The idea of making this a design class project is intriguing, though. I like the educational "real life" value of such assignments. Better, take it seriously and *get a designer.* We've devoted our careers to taking art, design, and the profession seriously. So be professional and get a pro. Our dues support myriad professionals, from web designers to lawyers. The group's major publication deserves the same. At the least find a graphic design class to do it as a project.
