The Art Collection at Mid-Manhattan Library presents Contingent and Eternal City an exhibition of woodcut prints by the painter and printmaker Michael Dal Cerro. Interested in representing the city as a symbol of progress and modernity, he is influenced by early 20th century German Expressionist architects and painters as well as popular culture and comic books. His highly colorful imagery is also reflective of the accumulated mass details and the perpetual energy emanating from bustling urban city centers. Roberta Waddell, Curator Emerita of the Print Collection at New York Public Library, will join Dal Cerro for an Artist Dialogue on Saturday January 23rd at 2:30 p.m. on the 6th floor. The exhibition series Art Wall on Third is curated by Arezoo Moseni.
