Thanks to the folks who answered my query about fabric for exhibition
cases. It prompted me to do a bit more research and I dropped the felt
idea and instead went with unbleached linen.
There was a National Park Service site I found that was really helpful

Subject: [BKARTS] Using Felt

I'm thinking of buying some felt to cover the slant boards in my
exhibition cases (I have some velvet at present but need more fabric and
think felt might be better because it won't wrinkle as easily). Does
anyone know whether polyester felt is ok (the benefit being that it's
washable) or should I go with wool felt?

Thanks,
Karen
