Here at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, we remove the covers from the books. We attach the call number to the spine. We display covers in an enclosed bulletin board just outside of the library and change them monthly. We also periodically give away covers. They are a big hit with art students. ---------------------- Mary Louise Castaldi Interlibrary Loan/ Reference Librarian University Libraries University of the Arts 320 S. I would be interested in knowing if you use and how you use book jackets‹i.e., if you use them for display of new art and architecture books, do you retain covers on when placed back into the stacks as part of the regular collection? Do you also cover with plastic book wrap? Trying to decide where best to put barcodes. __________________________________________________________________ Mail submissions to [log in to unmask] For information about joining ARLIS/NA see: http://www.arlisna.org/join.html Send administrative matters (file requests, subscription requests, etc) to [log in to unmask] ARLIS-L Archives and subscription maintenance: http://lsv.uky.edu/archives/arlis-l.html Questions may be addressed to list owner (Judy Dyki) at: [log in to unmask] __________________________________________________________________ Mail submissions to [log in to unmask] For information about joining ARLIS/NA see: http://www.arlisna.org/join.html Send administrative matters (file requests, subscription requests, etc) to [log in to unmask] ARLIS-L Archives and subscription maintenance: http://lsv.uky.edu/archives/arlis-l.html Questions may be addressed to list owner (Judy Dyki) at: [log in to unmask]
