For those who missed the ARLIS/NA noontime chat on Viz.
Lit.: I just wanted to say that I found it very interesting. Since part of the
discussion touched on the librarians’ roles vs. faculty members’
roles vis-à-vis visual literacy instruction, I just thought I send a link to
something I stumbled upon today:
One of UCLA’s History profs. received an award for an
online publication titled “Liberty, Equality, Fraternity: Exploring the
French Revolution at http://chnm.gmu.edu/revolution/. While
perusing the site, I found that she includes a section on ‘How to read
images” at:
http://chnm.gmu.edu/revolution/chap12a.html.
Just one of what I imagine would be many examples of faculty
members dealing with this topic.
Cheers and thanks again to the chat organizers!
Best,
