A Temporary Space for Artists' Books, Publications and Multiples

Starting on Friday, October 9, the storytelling room in the Children's
Room at the Main Library will become The Reading Room on every second
Friday of the month. In this cozy, intimate space, visitors can get up
close and personal with selections from the Library's collection of
artists' books, publications, and multiples. Experience these objects
the way their creators intended: touch them, page through them, look at
them closely.
This week's Reading Room will feature artists' books and publications by
Liam Gillick and Lawrence Weiner, Ed Ruscha, Pamela Vander Zwan, and
Vito Acconci and Bernadette Mayer, among others. There will also be a
timely living room-style screening of The Tipping Point: Health
Narratives from the South End, a video publication of Aspect: The
Chronicle of New Media. Feel free to bring your lunch (and wash your
hands before handling the books).
