Robert,

You may also want to look at a recent capstone project as a case study for
using MasterFormat for design materials.

Other organizations like Resource Directors Association and SLA's ABCD
Caucus might be worth contacting.

Subject: Re: [ARLIS-L] Materials Library Classification System

Hi Robert,

You might put yourself in touch with a group in New York called 'Material
Connexion.' They maintain a library of building materials:

http://www.materialconnexion.com/Home/Solutions/MaterialsLibrary/tabid/89/De
fault.aspx

I interviewed there a couple years ago. At the time, I believe they were
looking for someone to help them out with cataloging materials or making
their catalog accessible online.

They have, if memory serves, a pretty diverse selection of material, with
applications ranging from architecture and industrial design to graphic
design. I cannot recall if they made use of MasterFormat.

Hope this is helpful!

We are in the process of setting up a materials library at the Ontario

We are familiar with the CSI MasterFormat, but it is specific to
architecture and our materials library will include industrial design and
graphic design materials as well.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
