I can't imagine either VRA or ARLIS/NA without Leigh Gates. Her contributions to both over the years have been immeasurable, and no one could ask for a better colleague and friend. I can only hope that despite the AIC's ill-advised shortsightedness, Leigh will remain as buoyant as ever and continue to be a part of our professional community.
