Dear Members,
By now you have seen the Getty/BHA announcement. I add that I have made your concerns known to Thomas Gaehtgens personally (The GRI), to James Wood (the Getty Trust), to the Kress Foundation as well as the Mellon Foundation. I have heard from them all (all, that is, except the Mellon) and they expressed gratitude in learning of our interest. Personally, I believe, all is not entirely lost and that, for now, we must show some patience and carry hope in our hearts. In practical terms, we have no choice.
