Good question, Elise. I am beginning to organize my 2009-2010 lecture and
workshop schedule, and have been looking into what will enable me to
score 100% on all the student evaluations. I generally get top ratings
from 90%, but some of the audience was out of my reach.

One thing that got me going on this was the vitality of the audience
response in 2006 when I presented a lecture at the Guild of Book Workers
Centennial Conference. The presenter before me did not make the
conference, and the organizer asked if I would occupy the audience for an
extra 20 minutes. I had my violin handy, and told the story of how
I started the Center for Book Arts in 1974 (on Bleecker St. in NYC, half
a block from CBGB), with fiddle accompaniment. At the time I knew nothing
about MI theory, and did not know that engaging listeners who have
musical intelligence would be more than just entertainment.
