Hello Again Esteemed Colleagues,
I would hazard an educated guess that
many of us wear multiple hats in our
daily jobs and find our selves pulled
in many directions. For the most
part I am able to prioritize, make order
from chaos, and on a good day I
would say I am a "jill-of-trades."
However, there is one area that I feel
I am lacking in, and that is refined skills is Reference.
Ummm yeah. That is the leading part
of my job title. Reference. But somehow it tends to
come last most days...
So, query number 2 for today is the
"Art of Reference." Whether you are new
to the profession or wizened with experience,
I am questing for the tools,
tips, techniques, go to tomes, etc.
you consult/consulted to build up solid
reference service skills. I would greatly
appreciate anything you have to offer
in guidance.
Please feel free to email me directly.
And again, if you too are seeking similar information,
I am more than willing to share my results.
Just let me know.
Thanks so much,
Elise
