Dear members of ARLIS/NA,
As you all know our current Strategic Plan brought us through to 2009.
It is now time to look into the future, and develop a strategic plan for
2010-2015. The strategic plan should address several issues:
· What does the future look like for art information professionals?
· How can ARLIS/NA position itself to best address this future?
· What are the top three benefits that ARLIS/NA can offer its
members?
· How can ARLIS/NA increase and better retain membership?
The final strategic plan should address five to seven strategic goals;
for each goal there should be five to seven actions that can be taken to
achieve those goals. Goals should be SMART: Specific, Measurable,
Achievable, Realistic and Time Framed.
We are looking for volunteers to serve on a 5-6 member Strategic Plan
task force. Ken Soehner (ARLIS/NA Past President) has graciously agreed
to chair the group. We are hoping to have the strategic plan ready for
member review by January 2010; a draft will need to be presented to the
ARLIS/NA Executive Board by December 1, 2009. The first conference call
meeting will take place in mid-June. Please contact Ken Soehner
