ARLIS/NA - Midstates Chapter is pleased to announce that Nicole Beatty, Fine Arts Image Cataloger, Henry R. Hope School of Fine Arts Visual Resources Center, Indiana University, is year's William C. Bunce - ARLIS/NA - Midstates Travel Award recipient.

 

Nicole is an active Chapter member, and is significantly involved in our Chapter's hosting of this year's conference, serving on the Web Team, maintain the Conference Web Page, and also assisting with one of the workshops; but, as Nicole stated in her application, "because my institution does not provide any funding for support staff to attend conferences...without the Bunce Award I will be unable to afford the conference".  In addition to her conference responsibilities, Nicole is also very interested in attending sessions that will contribute to her goal of becoming a Visual Resources Librarian.  The committee agrees with her that "the professional development of support staff must take place for us to stay ahead in our fields."

 

The William C. Bunce Award / Midstates Travel Award is given in honor of William C. Bunce who served as the Director of the Kohler Art Library at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 1966 to 1999.  The purpose of the William C. Bunce/ ARLIS Midstates Travel Award is to support a chapter member's professional development by providing funding to attend the ARLIS/NA annual conference.
