The Chicago Art Journal is an annual publication, edited and produced since 1991 by graduate students in the University of Chicago's Department of Art History. Each year it aims to provide hands-on experience with an academic publishing process as part of graduate education, to acquaint students with the principles of editing and peer review, and ultimately to engender debate among students and across disciplines within the academic community by disseminating current graduate scholarship and promoting interest in the visual arts. We recently released volume 18 (2008), titled In Relation. Features include essays submitted by graduate students from around the world and interviews with Nikki S. Lee and Richard Vinograd. Volume 19, due out in Autumn 2009, will address issues of temporality in African art and art history, and volume 20 (2010) will feature graduate work in the history of architecture and design.
If you would like to purchase a subscription, the cover cost is $22 (+ $3 shipping and handling), however we are currently offering it for $18 (+ S&P).
