Thank you, Sarah Sherman >>> Sarah Sherman <[log in to unmask]> 2/4/2009 2:32 PM >>> Dear ARLIS/NA colleagues, Shilpa Rele and I are organizing the Resume Workshop at this year's ARLIS/NA conference in Indianapolis. We are seeking volunteers to participate as resume reviewers. In addition, we are seeking two speakers. The workshop is scheduled on Friday April 17, from 8:00am to 12:00pm. It will accommodate a maximum of 20 participants (i.e. resume writers) and will be free of charge. The Resume workshop is aimed at new and current professionals seeking jobs in the fields of art librarianship and visual resources. Speakers will talk about strategies related to resume and cover letter writing, and job searching skills. We are seeking a recent MLIS graduate to discuss job searching strategies and resources as well as interviewing tips. We are seeking an experienced manager or director to speak about resumes and hiring from the perspective of the employer (i.e. advice and tips for the job seeker). We have a confirmed speaker to discuss resume and cover letter construction, content and design. In addition, we would like to have 20 resume reviewers. The resume reviewers will be paired with resume writers to give personalized advice during one-on-one meetings. We would be thrilled if you would be willing to participate in the workshop. We know your expertise will be very much appreciated by the participants. Please let us know if you would like to volunteer as a resume reviewer and/or a speaker by Wednesday, February 11.
