Dear Colleagues, Application deadlines for the Worldwide Books Award for Publications and the H.W. Wilson Foundation Research Grant have been extended until February 20, 2009. Please consider nominating yourself, ARLIS members you know, or whose work you have admired. The Worldwide Books Award for Publications recognizes outstanding publications by ARLIS/NA individual members in librarianship or visual resources curatorship, and the arts. Recipients may receive awards ranging from a certificate of merit to a cash award of up to $1,500. The work must have been published during the 2007 or 2008 calendar year. The H.W. Wilson Foundation Research Grant provides funds to defer expenses related to research projects proposed or undertaken by ARLIS members, up to $3,000. Each category could recognize multiple awardees, and one applicant could apply for more than one award. Many winners in the past have produced work in art history or librarianship, but any scholarly project is eligible. Complete guidelines and the application forms are available on the ARLIS/NA awards index page: http://www.arlisna.org/about/awards/awards_index.html Feel free to contact Stephanie or me with questions or ideas. Sincerely, Research Awards Committee co-chairs: Stephanie Moye Serials Librarian American Art/Portrait Gallery Library Smithsonian Institution Libraries 750 9th Street, N.W.
