On behalf of the Communications and Publications Committee of ARLIS/NA, I am very pleased to report that Scarecrow Press has issued a second, corrected printing of both hardbound and paperback editions of Occasional Paper no. 16, Art Museum Libraries and Librarianship (originally co-published by ARLIS/NA and Scarecrow Press in April 2007). According to a Scarecrow Press representative, the first printing has sold out and the publication’s general editor, Joan Benedetti, has included many corrections for the second printing. In addition to correcting extensive typos and adjusting photos, Joan has incorporated entirely new entries in the index (however this second printing does not qualify as a new edition).

 

Art Museum Libraries and Librarianship is being used as a text for classes in both art and museum librarianship and has developed an international readership that has increased sales beyond original projections. Joan reports that according to Scarecrow's Managing Editor, Corinne Burton, "with the book's popularity and it's breadth of information, I'm sure there will be a third printing."
