My fellow Arlisians--

I feel somewhat overwhelmed by the response that was unleashed by that one innocent posting of mine yesterday, but that aside:

Our Education Department is considering creating some special benefits for librarians who visit the museum, based on the idea that they are educators just like teachers.

In the past we offered free one-year memberships for teachers (this program was discontinued, because it did not have the effect that was aimed at: that teachers would renew their membership after the first year).  Presently teachers receive a preview pass to visit the museum for free before they bring their class in for a tour. The department is thinking about giving teachers free admission to the museum (without all the benefits that come with a membership), and maybe offer special programs one weekend par quarter.

My question is: Are there any museums out there that offer special things for librarians?
