Dear Colleagues, Recent discussion on ARLIS-L regarding social networking sites and their role in the ARLIS/NA community sheds light on the interesting ways in which communications channels are diversifying. The Communications & Publications Committee would like to emphasize that while ARLIS-L, the Web site (with its new RSS feed capability), our print and online publications, and our annual conferences are the society's "official" lines of professional interaction, they need not - indeed, should not -- be the *only* ways in which we connect with one other and reach out to new constituencies. Please be assured that the committee is dedicated to maintaining the high quality and professional relevance of our current communications program. We are also eager to explore new methods in fulfillment of the society's mission, and we welcome your suggestions for using any of these more creatively and effectively.
