COME TO LOOK, COME TO SHOP, COME TO PLAY
Forget
about those yawn-inspiring holiday gifts. You will find unique (and affordable)
works of art here, suitable for everyone on your list - or you may just look,
enjoy and find inspiration for your own creativity at this festive
event.
There
will be about 40 artists selling and showing work, an exhibit of recent
acquisitions from the Free Library's Artists' Book collection, and book and
paper workshops that are kid and klutz friendly.
This event
features artists' books, playing cards, handmade paper art, prints, paper
jewelry, blank books, broadsides . . . .
If
it's paper-based art, it's here.
Tables
will be set up in the Lobby, West Gallery and Room 108.
WORKSHOPS
will be held at 1:00 and 2:00 in the Story-Hour Room in the Central Children's
Department on the Ground Floor.
EXHIBITION:
Authors of Mischief,
the Banned Books themed exhibition organized by the Rosenbach Museum and
Library and the Philadelphia Center for the Book, is now installed (with a
few additions) outside the Print and Picture Collection on the 2nd floor. It
will be up through December 5th.
ALSO
ON THE 2nd FLOOR: Visit the Print & Picture Collection that day to view a
broad selection of artists' books from the collection (Saturday 10-4).
