Greetings ARLIS/NA!
To follow up on Elizabeth Schaub's message to the list yesterday about the new functional board roles, I wanted to send some information on the Development and Marketing Liaison role. Following the transition from Midwest Regional Representative to Development
and Marketing Liaison, I've been working with Barbara Rockenbach, chair of the Development Committee, and Shalimar Fojas White, chair of the Membership Committee. Both committees have been busy this fall as they prepare for the 37th annual ARLIS/NA conference
in Indianapolis and begin the membership renewal process for 2009.
I also attended a couple of chapter meetings this fall as a representative of the board. The ARLIS/Ohio Valley chapter graciously hosted me at their fall meeting in Louisville in October. The weather was beautiful and we all enjoyed a day of informative
sessions, great conversation, and a lovely lunch in the Speed Art Museum. Thanks to ARLIS/Ohio Valley Vice-Chair Meg Shaw and Gail Gilbert for arranging our day at the University of Louisville. Thanks also to ARLIS/Ohio Valley Chair Ellie Ward and Treasurer
Maggie Castellani for all their efforts to ensure that the business meeting and registration ran smoothly.
My home chapter, ARLIS/Midstates, met just last week in Indianapolis. Conference planning was the focus of the day, and I am happy to report that the chapter is poised to offer ARLIS/NA an educational and entertaining annual conference next April. Look
for the conference program to be available soon on the conference website:
http://www.indiana.edu/~indycon/ Thanks to ARLIS/Midstates Chair Marsha Stevenson for keeping us on
track during the meeting and to Secretary/Treasurer Kitty Jansen for taking notes on our far-ranging discussions. And a special thanks to the conference program co-chairs, Tony White and Eileen Fry, and local arrangements co-chairs Alba Fernandez and Sonja
Staum, for all of their continuing efforts.
Feel free to contact me with any questions.
-Amy
