There is a lot of artwork focused on AIDS also. The first three links on google for the search AIDS art looked relevant.

Your artist might ask the online community at http://www.npr.org/blogs/mycancer/ about contemporary artists and cancer as well.

A student is a printmaker and is interested in other contemporary artists who develop art related to diseases? I am not aware of any but will do some searching. Anyone think of a contemporary artist like this? This student develops his artwork about cancer. Thanks.
